Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press: I Made Panini’s at Work

Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press: I Made Panini’s at Work

When I woke up for work this morning I wandered what I needed to get done when I got there. My day starts a 4 am so I wasn’t in the best of moods. It was cold outside, I was sore from yesterday’s workout and I was getting hungry. With these things on my mind what I had to do for work that day quickly vanished. I knew what needed to be done at the job so blah blah. Since food was on my mind I thought about what I would eat for lunch that day. Lunch often times is the only bit of happiness in an otherwise boring day. As I went downstairs to get my coffee I opened the fridge and saw my lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and cold cuts. When I saw this I knew what I as going make. I was going to make Paninis on my toasted sandwich maker.

The Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press: I Made Panini’s at Work  is the press I chose for this task. Luckily, I keep one at work just for this occasion. Lunch these days is expensive. So you have to plan on bringing your lunch if you want to save. I chose to take this particular press to work and leave it because it is inexpensive indoor grill but it gets the job done. I don’t think anyone would steal it out of the office, but if they do no big deal.

When lunchtime finally rolls around I ask a couple of my co-workers if they would like a toasted sandwich with me. They agree. Since I have everything there already (dark German Bread, tomatoes, cheese, and soft butter) it won’t take long to get ready. I show one of my coworkers the Panini Press. I tell her all you have to do is plug it in and let it heat up. It heats up quickly. Once it is ready the indicator lights will switch to ready. With a cooking surface of 8-1/2 by 12 inches we will be able to make four sandwiches in no time (2 for me 1 for each of them…Greed is good!)

While they are prepping the bread with butter and getting the tomato and cheese together I run to the grocery store and get some sliced roast beef and turkey. This is so much better than regular cold cuts. When I get back from the store we assemble the sandwiches. This isn’t rocket science, but I do like to put the tomatoes in between each piece of meat and the cheese in contact with the bread.

The floating hinge on the Hamilton Beach Panini Press Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press: I Made Panini’s at Work  is such that it can handle thick or thin sandwiches. These I would say are medium thickness. Now I am starving and so are my co-workers. The good thing is this press has a lock that locks thing hinge down on the sandwich. As we lock the sandwiches in place I can hear the sizzle of the butter and the slight crackling of the bread being toasted. This only takes about 2-6 minutes.

As we take the first two Panini’s out of the grill they are hot on the outside and warm on the inside and the cheese is melted beautifully. I give the first two sandwiches to my co-workers. As I cook my Paninis I look around for the Clorox wipes. This press cleans up easily because of the Teflon coating. I didn’t bring the included scraper. I didn’t need it however since there wasn’t much burnt residue on the grill.

My co-worker asked what else can the Hamilton Indoor grill cook as she greedily chomped on her toasted sandwich. I told her that it can cook chicken but it really isn’t designed for that. This grill really only makes sandwiches. You may need a Cuisinart Griddler Jr Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press: I Made Panini’s at Work  for cuts of meat. I told her the chicken doesn’t always come out right on this press. She said,”hmm” as she smacked on another bit of my creation.

So my lunch idea was pretty good. I was happy and so were my co-workers. I think my one worker would have liked for the Hamilton to do more than make sandwiches and other people may feel that way. I however don’t for the price of around 30 bucks, a 2 year warranty and really easy to heat up and use I can’t complain!
